Recipe: Whiskey Sour
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Bourbon or Rye
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- .25 oz Amaretto (opt)
- 1 Egg White (opt)
- Barrel Aged Bitters
- Cherry Garnish
Directions:
In a shaker, dry shake (no ice) the egg white and bourbon. Shake vigorously. Add a handful of ice, Amaretto, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake again. You want the egg white to be as foamy as possible.
In a bucket, add a large ice rock, or serve up in a coupe. I would recommend not serving over cubed ice.
Strain cocktail. Make sure and get all the egg white on top. Add three to four shakes of bitters. Garnish with a cherry.
Tip: Replace the simple syrup with .75 oz of maple syrup, and garnish with cinnamon instead of bitters/cherry, and you have a Kentucky Mountie. (yeah, I made that up.)
